Baba Malynowskyj

In loving memory. My Baba's kitchen is a tribute to her.

Baba was of Czech and Ukrainian descent and lovingly nurtured every relationship she had with her passion for cooking. To Baba, the kitchen was the heart of every home. Her life path took her through war-torn Europe, residing briefly in Germany and England before settling in Canada. No matter where Baba was or how dire the circumstances she would cook up something delectable using whatever was available locally or from her garden to lift the spirits of her family, friends, and loved ones.

The culinary skill of cooking traditional Ukrainian food is passed down from mother to daughter, in my case grandmother to granddaughter. Cooking her recipes brings me back to my childhood sitting in my baba's kitchen, a place I hold dear to my heart. With over 20 years in the culinary industry, I'm happy to reach back to my roots and invite you into My Baba's kitchen.
